Recycled Art Auction

In celebration of National Recycling Week, November 7 - 13, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge held their 3rd annual Recycled Art Auction. As a committee member and past participant, I wanted to encourage student involvement this year. The auction is open to the public ages 14 and up. Each participant is given a $50 voucher to the Habitat ReStore to purchase materials. Artwork must be constructed from recycled, reused, or repurposed items. Proceeds from the silent auction will support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge's mission to build affordable, decent homes. Winning entries are featured in a local art gallery. With the help of Carol Hackler and two Art IV students, we were able to contribute the following two pieces of repurposed furniture...

"The Circle of Life" hand painted by Jonathan Honroe.
"Chevron Stool" hand painted by Meredith Decoteau.
"Mosaic Cow Skull" by Sallie Anzelmo.
